Hearing Solutions of Long Island is an independent hearing aid practice, so we are not beholden to any particular hearing aid manufacturer. Instead, our sole focus is on treating our patients and providing the best possible care. We emphasize the importance of keeping patients involved in their own treatment plan, and that extends to the approach we take when dispensing hearing aids.
There are many factors to consider when choosing the right hearing aids, and we will always consult with you on these factors. We guide you to the best fit for you, not the fanciest or most expensive options, because we care about your hearing and your satisfaction above all else. Some people prefer certain aesthetics and want the most discreet hearing aids available, which can sometimes mean sacrificing power. Other people keep active lifestyles and need hearing aids that will accommodate time spent outdoors or during athletic activities. And budget is always a consideration, so we offer hearing aids on a full spectrum from simple and inexpensive to sophisticated and cutting-edge.
Hearing aids come in several different form factors, which do not affect cost. Some require custom fitting, while others are available off-the-shelf.
While we carry hearing aids from major manufacturers including Signia, Starkey, and Phonak, we are most excited right now about the latest technology from Signia. In particular, our favorite model is the Pure NX, a receiver-in-canal model that streams directly from the iPhone! The Pure NX offers great sound, great comfort, and the ability to hear phone calls or listen to music directly from your phone. For patients who are concerned about aesthetics, the Silk model from Signia is hidden deep inside your ear canal and is essentially invisible. We respect your preferences and your priorities and will help you find hearing aids that will suit you.
Bluetooth technology is becoming more standard, and we believe it will become a default option in the future. Historically, patients have found phone calls and watching TV to be some of the most challenging situations, but streaming is a powerful solution that allows you to hear bluetooth-connected devices — including your television, if it has the right features — directly in your hearing aids. We're happy to help you connect your hearing aids to your phone and set your television to be compatible as well.
We're glad to offer the Signia Styletto, one of the newest hearing aids on the market. Its sleek and slim design gives it style without sacrficing its high audiological performance.
The Styletto includes exceptional style, portable rechargeability, and an all-natural hearing experience.
The differentiating factor in hearing aid cost is not shape or even customization but technology, which is offered at several predetermined levels. On the lower end of the spectrum are simpler solutions that amplify the volume and manage noise reduction to some degree. The higher levels of technology can emulate the way your brain processes sound to deliver more natural acoustics and easier speech processing, and some also allow for bluetooth connectivity between your hearing aids and your iPhone.
If your needs are simpler, a lower level of technology can be sufficient and also save you money. If you have a greater degree of hearing loss, you lead a more active lifestyle, and/or you're interested in technological advances, you have several higher levels to choose from. We'll guide you to the solutions we think are most likely to suit you and your life, but the final decision is yours, with no pressure from us.
Over the years, we've seen major improvements to hearing aids. It's been wonderful to be able to offer solutions that were not available in the past. The audio quality has become more natural and continues to improve with each new generation. Bluetooth streaming has opened a world of possibilities for more technologically savvy patients who can now listen to television or music directly streamed to their hearing aids. And connectivity to the phone has empowered patients to make adjustments in changing listening conditions on the fly. In the office, hearing aids today can be adjusted with an iPhone app by the patients themselves if they need to turn the volume up or down or focus their microphones in a particular direction.
All EarQ hearing aids come standard with the EarQ Secure 4-Year Warranty, the longest available hearing aid warranty. It covers four years of device cleanings, repairs, and adjustments at Hearing Solutions of Long Island as well as any other of the 1,400 certified EarQ provider locations nationwide.
